CROATIA MEETING REPORT

EXPLANATION:

The meeting in Croatia was the third meeting in our project and for this second LLT activity we had a 5 day plan. The first two days we had workshops and Science and English club activities. The other days we had excursions or cultural visits to various locations and cities with the task to better get to know the history, customs and traditions of south Croatia (Dalmatia). Upon sending the invitation letters and the visit program, 11 teachers and 28 students from partner schools participated.

 

Meeting in Vrgorac

1st day- Monday: The teachers were taken from the hotel to our school, where they joined with their students to be formally welcomed. After that we watched the welcoming ceremony altogether in the school auditorium. The Croatian students delivered their presentations about our project “Spring in Croatia”, about our school, our town and country and the Croatian National Education System. Then the guests were guided through our school to see the school classrooms and offices. After that we had School cooperation workshops and Sports workshops. After lunch we visited the Vrgorac Town Hall where we had a meeting with the major of Vrgorac. Then we had a Vrgorac city tour, including the climbing to see the city fortress.

 

2nd day - Tuesday: We had Science and English club workshops, students' presentations about “Spring in Italy, Turkey, Poland and Spain” and an Art workshop. After that we went to visit the Etno village Kokorići where we learned about the history, culture and traditions in the Vrgorac area. We ate the traditional meal “Peka” and visited the facilities of the local Meat industry Pivac in Zavojane.

 

3rd day -Wednesday: We went to visit Split, an old antic city, the second largest city in Croatia and a main passenger port. After lunch we went to the Klis fortress and visited the Klis museum

 

4th day Thursday: We went to visit Dubrovnik, one of the main touristic centers in Europe. We visited Lokrum island and after lunch we went to visit the town Ston, the town with the longest city walls in Europe.

 

5th day Friday: We went to the Neretva valley to visit the town Metković and the Natural Science Museum. Then we went to the Archelogical museum Narona in Vid. After that we went on a Foto safari by traditional boats called “LAĐA” trough the Nertva swamp to the location Momići.

In the evening we had a farewell dinner where the participating students and teachers received their certificates.

 

Result: All the items from the program were carried out without any trouble. The students and teachers were very engaged and successful in the process.

 

 

SPAIN MEETING REPORT

 

Meeting date: February 18-22, 2019

EXPLANATION:

Students and teachers from all the countries participating in the project visited us, five students from Turkey, six from Croatia, five from Italy and six from Poland and three teachers from each country.

Spain meeting was the first exchange of students and we had different activities for the five days of the meeting.

 

18th February:

There was a welcoming ceremony with students’ presentations about traditions, weather and main features of our islands as well as Spanish Education System.

 

We also learnt about these topics in the other countries with the students’ presentations.

A group of students showed our school to our visitors and after that, we visited Tacoronte, the municipality where our school is located, our students acted as tour guides in the route. Back to school we had lunch and we could try traditional food from The Canary Islands, cooked by our students’ parents.

 

19th February:

Science and English lessons with all the students and teachers involved in the project and lecture about the origin of universe.

 

In the afternoon, we visited La Orotava, an old town in the North of the island, and Puerto de la Cruz, a popular touristic place in our island

 

20th February:

We went to the Teide, the highest mountain in Spain and the third highest volcano in the world. There was a visit to the observatory and a long tiring walk around Roques de García.

 

21st February:

We organised different workshops led by students (graffitti, flamenco dance, breakdance, rythmic gymnastic, origami, …).

After the workshops, all countries prepared and cooked typical dishes and we tried them, they were delicious.

 

In the afternoon, we walked around La Laguna (World Heritage Site by Unesco), again our students acted as tour guides in the visit.

 

22nd February:

It was the last day of the meeting, so we spent the they having fun at Siam Park, one of the most amazing aquatic park in the world.

 

In the evening, students and teachers had a farewell dinner in Santa Cruz, with music and dance.

 

 

PRVI SASTANAK PARTNERA ERASMUS + PROJEKTA "SCIENCE IN SEASONS AND SEASONAL TREASURES IN EUROPE"

Na prvom sastanku partnera u projektu „SCIENCE IN SEASONS AND SEASONAL TREASURES IN EUROPE“ koji je održan  u Ankari, škole partneri su izabrale logo i moto projekta među predloženim učeničkim radovima iz svih partnerskih škola. Odabran je logo od učenika iz škole „Erzurumlu Ibrahim Hakki Ortaokulu“ iz Turske dok je moto projekta „The same seasons but different cultures“ djelo učenice OŠ Vrgorac, Vite Tolić.

 

Nakon radnog dijela na kojem su dogovoreni slijedeći susreti i strategije za provedbu projekta, sudionici su se kroz nekoliko dana upoznali sa Turskom njenim običajima i tradicijom, upoznali su grad Ankaru i okolicu te prostor Capadocije.
